The Alabaster Circles

By on April 1, 2016

Ini Onuk recently came out of her shell to do what we had discussed about 5 years ago.

I do not know if it is a gift or just a sign that I live more in the future than in the present but I always mention or suggest to people to do things they eventually come round to a few years afterwards. This is because I never see them where I meet them but what they can become and/or will be doing or have the capacity to achieve in future.  (I hope to blog about this shortly).

I believe she has been assigned a role to help other women and almost everything she has been through in life – personal and professional life – prepared her for this initiative.

Well, when we spoke, she shrugged and smiled; with a knowing smile as though saying, “I don’t want to go there. You have no idea how much work it is!”.  This was in 2009 and in 2012, she presented her second book, ‘Break The Alabaster’. As the project manager for the book and presentation event, I squeezed in a commitment note that the book will birth an initiative to support women in their quest to ‘break their alabasters’. To me, it only made sense to do this because it was not enough for women to read the book, a number would also require support to heal or even take practical steps to achieving their dreams.

This is the essence of #TheAlabasterCircles.

Recently, she announced the first event on her Facebook Page.
